Bentrideronline review
10.2009
Customers must have unbiased information about any product in order to make good purhase decisions. This is the reason we sent one of our top of the range recumbents to Bryan Ball. His knowledge of recumbents is well founded, since is based in hands-on experience. As Managing Editor of Bentrideronline (BROL) he has ridden and tested more recumbent models than any other mortal. Also BROL is the best international source of recumbent information.
These are some of his comments on the MetaPhysic recumbent:
When they offered to send me a bike I was expecting some rough edges and a sort of “work in progress”. I was wrong. This new company delivered me a light, fast, well refined machine that really blew my socks off.
The focus of this Spanish recumbent is speed.
Even thought it may not be as versatile as some of the other highracer offerings, it definitely does achieve its goals. The MetaPhysic is a very fast recumbent for sure. On our usual test loop it was the second fastest highracer ever.
The MetaPhysic is an outstanding climber. The frame is one of the stiffest I’ve ever been on and when combined with the light weight, it becomes a pretty potent hill conquering weapon.
This also makes the MetaPhysic a great bike for sprints. The aerodynamics are pretty clean with the narrow handlebars and nothing rolls quite like a dual 700 highracer so flat land speed is also quite impressive.

New for 2009: Small size, big wheels
02.2009
With the developement of MetaPhysic recumbent we conceived a very unique machine: a 700C highracer with outstanding climbing capabilities and able to share the ride with regular road bikes.
Now the time has come to go even further, offering the big wheels experience to shorter riders. This is possible using 26" wheels, which the most widely available size! With 26" wheels there is more clearance over front wheel to set pedals closer to the rider and seating height is reduced to 22.5" (57cm). Caliper brakes are fixed through adapters specially designed for this bike. Completed with an S size seat, riders from 5'2" (1,58m) will enjoy soon this machine.
The new S size consolidates MetaBikes as the specialist to fit any kind of rider on big fast wheels. Available from Marh 2009.

9.5 kilos MetaPhysic
09.2008
As many riders report, the MetaPhysic recumbent is a true climbing machine. One of the aspects that make this possible is its fairly low weight. Because an image is better than thousand words, here is an example of a MetaPhysic weighting 9.5 kilos. Besides using light components, we also lightened a bit some parts like the stem or cushion. Enjoy te view!

The aesthetics of Campagnolo shifters on the carbon handlebar is very neat. The lack of hand grips saves unnecessary weight.
